MARIA ZOILA (GOMEZ) OLSEN, age 58, of Worthington, died Sunday, December 2, 2007, at her home. She was born October 31, 1949, in Durango, Mexico, to Felipe and Mercedez (Luna) Gomez. Maria moved to El Paso, TX in 1965. In 1976, she moved to Worthington. Maria worked at Campbell?s Soup Co. On November 24, 1981, Maria became a United States Citizen. Maria married James Olsen on June 26, 1981, at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Worthington. After their marriage, the couple lived in Worthington. Since 1991, Maria has worked as a Correctional Officer at the Nobles County Law Enforcement Center. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, in Worthington. Maria enjoyed shopping & especially spending time with her family. Maria is survived by her husband, James Olsen, Worthington; son, Jose Olsen, Worthington; father, Felipe Gomez, San Elizario, TX; three sisters, Maria De los Angeles (Jesus) Cardoza, Juarez, Mexico; Maria S. (Rey) Ortiz, Worthington; and Maria Del Carmen (Dionel) Esparza, Ft. Hancock, TX; and six brothers, Jesus R. (Sylvia) Gomez, San Elizario, TX; Rafael S. Gomez, Worthington; Jose? F. (Bertha) Gomez, Houston, TX; Jesus E. (Isabel) Gomez, San Elizario, TX; Javier L. Gomez, San Elizario, TX; and Alberto (Maria) Gomez, El Paso, TX. She was preceded in death by her mother; brother, Arturo Gomez; and a sister, Enrequeta Gomez.
