MARIE SCHUTZ, age 79, of Adrian, died Sunday, October 15, 2006, at the Sioux Valley Luverne Community Hospital. She was born June 16, 1927, in Wilmont, to Henry and Lena (Balster) Slater. She attended grade school in Wilmont and graduated from Worthington High School in 1945. Marie was united in marriage to Don Schutz on September 21, 1948 at Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church in Wilmont. After their marriage they lived on a farm in rural Adrian. They later moved to a farm near Wilmont where they farmed until moving to their home farm south of Adrian. She moved to Arnold Memorial Nursing Home in 2002. She volunteered for the Pink Ladies where she was a chairman for three years. She was a member of St. Adrian?s Catholic Church where she belonged to the Catholic Daughters and was a member of the circles. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, playing cards, especially pinochle, and sharing her divinity candy with all her friends. Marie is survived by her husband, Don, Adrian; three children; Dave (Doris) Schutz, Adrian; Linda (Denny) Hohn, Adrian; Pat (Tony) Scheidt, Luverne; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Ray (Nelma) Slater, Worthington; Jim (Mary) Slater, Worthington; three sisters, Esther Becker, Mesa, AZ; Arlene (Lyle) Schlichte, Wilmont; Joan Slater, Worthington. A tree will be planted in memory of Marie Schutz by Hospice of Sioux Valley Luverne Hospital. Blessed Be Her Memory.
