MARIO MALDONADO, age 49, of Worthington, died Saturday, December 3, 2016, at the Osceola Community Hospital, in Sibley, IA. He was born January 16, 1967, in Juarez, Mexico, to Gregorio and Gracia (Ortiz) Maldonado. He came to the United States in 1972 and moved to Worthington in 1989.

Mario married Maria Olivas on January 11, 1992. The couple lived in Worthington. Mario worked as a maintenance supervisor and mechanic at Sunrise Farms in Harris, IA.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Worthington. He enjoyed helping people, fixing up old cars; and was a "ladies man".

Mario is survived by his wife, Maria Maldonado, Worthington; four children, Adrianna, Erika, Manuela and Ricardo Maldonado all of Worthington; five grandchildren, Damian, Azael, Andres, Naomi and Miklo; two brothers, Jose Alfredo Maldonado and Jose Maldonado; and three sisters, Soledad, Guadalupe and Lucia.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Tuesday, with parish prayers at 7 pm, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, officiated by Fr. James Callahan. Burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery in Worthington.
