MARJORIE ?Margie? JENNY SMOOK, age 81, of Magnolia, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth. She was born May 18, 1930, in rural Nobles County, to Edward and Jenny (Nagel) Donth. She graduated from Magnolia High School in 1948. Margie married Harold Smook on November 27, 1948, in Magnolia. After their marriage, the couple lived in Magnolia. In the 1960?s and 70?s, she worked at the Magnolia Steak House, in Magnolia. Margie also worked at Sailor Plastic in Adrian. She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne; and the Luverne Eagles Club. Margie enjoyed camping, playing bingo, and visiting relatives in Illinois. Margie is survived by her six children, Curtis (Mary) Smook, Magnolia; Myron (Robin) Smook, Magnolia; Dennis (Arlene) Smook, Luverne; Randy (Vicky) Smook, Luverne; Kevin Smook, Magnolia; and Jenalee Kraetsch, Jackson; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two brothers, Karen (Mary) Donth, Magnolia; and Paul (Kim) Donth, Luverne; and a sister-in-law, Genevieve McClure, Luverne. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold, on October 22, 2000; brother, Pete Donth; and an infant brother, Myron.
