MARTHA JOSEPHINE SCHOMACKER, age 93, of Hills, died Sunday, July 7, 2019, at the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills. She was born September 15, 1925, in Fairfax, SD, to John and Elizabeth (Schrage) Wiebelhaus. As an infant, she moved with her parents to Hartington, NE. At the age of thirteen, she moved with her parents to Crofton, NE.

Martha married Donald Schomacker on December 10, 1948, in Alvord, IA. The couple moved to Luverne in 1950. Martha became a resident of the Tuff Memorial Home in March of 2011.

She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne. She enjoyed fishing, and gardening.

Martha is survived by her son, Keith (Deb) Schomacker, Ely; four grandchildren; and a brother, John Wiebelhaus, Mitchell, SD.

She was a preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don on February 9, 1984; and a niece and a nephew.

Funeral Mass will be 1 pm Thursday at St. Catherine Catholic Church, in Luverne, officiated by Fr. Charles Duhman and Monsignor Gerald Kosse. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in the St. Catherine Cemetery in Luverne.
