MARVIN L. ANDERSON, age 73, of Worthington, died Friday, October 23, 2015, at his home. He was born January 27, 1942, in Worthington, to Henry L. and Rosalie (Dake) Anderson. He graduated from Worthington High School.
Marv married Barbara Jean Sachen on October 19, 1962, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Worthington. After their marriage, the couple lived in Org, MN. Marv worked on the farm for Maynard Doeden; and also worked various construction jobs. In 1967, Marv opened Marv's Bait in Org. In 1973, the family moved north of Worthington and relocated Marv's Bait.
He loved the outdoors. Marv enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, camping and gardening.
Marv is survived by his wife, Barb Anderson, Worthington; four children, Les (Keeley) Anderson, Alden; Lonnie (fiancée, Hope) Anderson, Jackson; Lori (John) Schaffer, Heron Lake; and Larry (Angela) Anderson, Worthington; thirteen grandchildren, Jessica (fiancée, Corey) Anderson, Zachary Anderson, Dustin Menssen, Shawna Menssen, Trevor (Brittany) Fuerstenberg, Cheyenne Schaffer, Cheyliska Schaffer, Cheyleigh Schaffer, Andrew Grover, Alexie (David) Cross, Nathan Jensen, Jashua Anderson and Kelicy Anderson; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Martens, Rushmore; and nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, June Colson; and a half brother, Edward Anderson.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Wednesday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, in Worthington, officiated by Pastor Galen E. Smith. Burial will be in the Indian Lake Cemetery.
