MARY ELLEN HAMMAR, age 82, of Worthington, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 30, 2024, in Worthington. She was born February 9, 1942, in Worthington, to Donald and Helen (Annable) Hammar. She graduated from Cambridge High School. As a young girl, Mary Ellen moved with her family to Cambridge, MN, where she worked as a librarian. In the late 1980's, the family moved back to Worthington. She was a member of the Worthington Baptist Temple Church. She enjoyed family, puzzles, artwork, reading and stuffed animals. Mary Ellen is survived by her thirteen nieces & nephews; many great-nieces & nephews; and many great-great-nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters: Phyllis Hammar, Faith (Bob) Luing and Eleanor (Darvin) Schuck.

A graveside service will take place at 1 pm Tuesday, Sept. 3 at the Worthington Cemetery.
