MARY A. HINRICHS, age 92, of Worthington, died Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at the Sibley Nursing & Rehab Center, in Sibley, IA. She was born March 24, 1917, in Rock Rapids, IA, to Henry Van Briesen. Mary attended country school near Rock Rapids, IA. After her schooling, she remained on the family farm. Mary married Henry M. Hinrichs on January 28, 1938, in Rock Rapids, IA. After their marriage, the couple farmed in rural Rock Rapids, IA, before moving to the farm in rural Rushmore in 1943. In 1972, they moved to Worthington. Mary worked for Sather?s, in Round Lake, and then worked at Lang?s Bakery in Worthington. She enjoyed baking and vegetable & flower gardening. Mary is survived by her two sons, Billy Hinrichs, Worthington; and Gerald (Lien) Hinrichs, Sioux Falls, SD; Special family friend, Betty Chatwell, Sibley, IA; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three brothers, Alfred Van Briesen, George, IA; Frank Van Briesen, Bellevue, NE; and Harry Van Briesen, Rock Rapids, IA; and a sister, Pearl DeBooy, Rock Rapids, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry, on December 7, 1995; daughter, Mary Ellen Hinrichs, in 1967; twin sons, Ronald & Donald Hinrichs; grandson, Jason Hinrichs, in 1976; two brothers; and a sister. Funeral will be 1:00 pm Saturday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Adrian. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will be at the Worthington Garden of Memories Cemetery.
