MARY "PUNKIE" MARGARET SCHNEEKLOTH, age 87, of Luverne, died Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at the Mary Jane Brown Home in Luverne. She was born July 21, 1924, in Luverne, to Lyle and Frances (Kohn) Horigan. She attended school in Luverne.
Punkie married Donald Coutts Schneekloth on August 2, 1947, in East Moline, IL. The couple had their only child, LaDonna, in January of 1948. Punkie worked various jobs before settling in at Northwestern Bell, in Luverne, from where she retired in 1983 with thirty four years of service.
She was an active member of St. Catherine Catholic Church; and the WCCW. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Punkie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, LaDonna & Dennis Connell, Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Tracy (Kathy) Connell, Woodbury; Lisa (Art) Olson, Brooklyn Park; Kim (Brian) Dillon, Phoenix, AZ; and Jenni (Bob) Powell, Phoenix, AZ; six great grandchildren, Jake, Jessie, Emma, Brock, Melissa & Tracy; six great great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald, in 1992; three brothers, Lyle, Eugene & Joseph Horigan; and a sister, Janet Dawson.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Laverne, with parish prayers at 5PM. Visitation also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Funeral will be 2PM Friday at St. Catherine Catholic Church, in Luverne, officiated by Fr. Thomas Jennings. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne.
