MARY CAROL LURSEN, age 89, of Adrian, died Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Sunrise View Assisted Living in Adrian. She was born February 21, 1936, in Adrian, to Louis J. and Vivian (Owens) Metz. She graduated from St. Adrian High School.

Mary married Donald Lursen on November 21, 1957, at the St. Adrian Rectory. The couple made their home in Adrian and were blessed with four children. Mary worked as secretary for her husband at Don's Radio & TV in Adrian. She also worked at the Adrian Co-op.

She was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church, where she served as Eucharistic Minister; the WCCW; the Christian Mothers; the Adrian Chamber of Commerce where Mary & Don were head of the parade for many years; Grey Ladies and several card clubs. She enjoyed playing bridge, bowling and ceramics.

Mary is survived by her four children, Sandy (John) Klinkenborg, Anoka; Sharon (Larry) Balster, Adrian; Kevin Lursen, Adrian; and Lori (Gregg) Bosse, Jefferson, SD; grandchildren, Casey (Liz) Klinkenborg, Lindsy Gornick, Kelly (Matt) Olson, Jeremy (Kelly) Balster, Tara (Corey) Luettel, Jordan (Brandi) Balster, Jana (Kenny) Willers, Jaden (Molly) Balster, Stephaine (Jake) Leighty, Tyler (Tiffany) Lursen, Heidi (Josh) Baker, Heather (Ethan) Heideman, Alicia Bosse, Haley (Garrett) Kohler, & Brady Bosse; great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Elsie, Raelee, Rylan, Brooklyn, Kenna, Teegan, Avery (Jaydn), Cadence, Ava, Ella, Bennett, Phillip, Ainsley, Oliver, Leo, Tenley, Amara, Briella, Kysten, Brecklyn, Brooks, Karsen, Paytin, Allison, Loretta, Kentin, Kason, Rylee, Ari & Marlee; siblings, Jo Willemstein, Tusla, OK; Donna Bartholomaus, Clarion, IA; Patricia (Hubert) Pass, Worthington; Kay Jean (Larry) Dammer, Cannon Falls; Michael (Beverly) Metz, Adrian; Patrick (Coletta) Metz, Adrian; and Gayle Buss, Adrian; and a sister-in-law, Elsie Metz, Sioux Falls, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don on January 9, 2015; daughter-in-law, Amy Lursen; brother, Mylo Metz; sister, Dolores (Duane) Ruser; father and mother-in-law, John and Laura Lursen; sister-in-law, Alice (Wayne) Pieper; and brothers-in-law, Robert Bartholomaus, Gary Hokeness, Dale Buss and Clarence (Martha) Lursen.

Visitation will be from 2-5 pm Sunday, Oct. 5, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian; visitation also from 9:30 to 10:15 am Monday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Monday at St. Adrian Catholic Church, in Adrian, officiated by Monsignor Richard Colletti. Burial will be in the St. Adrian Cemetery.
