MARY VIOLA "VI" LAMMERT, age 89, of Luveme, went to her heavenly home on Friday, October 27, 2006, at The Cottage, in Luverne. She was born December 10, 1916, on the farm east of Brandon, SD, to John and Anna (Andersen) Andersen. Vi grew up and attended school in the Sherman, SD area. She graduated from Sherman High School. Vi married Clarence Lammert on July 20, 1936, in Sherman, SD. After their marriage, the couple moved to Luverne where Vi worked at "The Worthmore"; and later became a cook at the Luveme High School. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, in Luverne. Vi enjoyed cooking, baking, flower gardening and playing pinochle & scrabble. She was an avid sports fan. Vi is survived by her three children and their spouses, Marilyn Galvin, Sioux Falls, SD; Marv & LaJean Lammert, Luverne; and Duane & Peg Lammert, Sioux Falls, SD; eleven grandchildren, Khris (Paul) Kuck, Maryanne Dennis, Michelle (Mike) Shafer, Stephanie (Bob) White, Mike (Paula) Lammert, Pam (Scott) Schneekloth, Debra (Mark) Hopkins, Becky (Eldon) Kruger, Jane (Guy) Acree, Mark (Carrie) Lammert, and Mike (Jackie) Driscoll; twenty nine great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; David's Godchildren, Mistyn & Mandy; brother, Kenny Andersen, Sioux Falls, SD; and four sisters, Evie (Servie) Huyser, Brookings, SD; Gladys Brown, Largo, FL; Ann Loken, Sioux Falls, SD; and Doris (Ray) Pomorski, Erie, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence, on July 2, 1989; son, David, on October 2, 1985; two brothers, Ove & Harold Andersen; and four sisters, Agnes Sorenson, Ellen Olson, Esther Loken & Lillian Larson. A tree will be planted in memory of Vi Lammert, by Hospice of Luverne Sioux Valley.
