MERLE ELIZABETH SIEVE, age 93, of Wilmont died May 28, 2007, at the Arnold Memorial Health Care Center in Adrian. She was born on December 3, 1913 in Spencer, Iowa to parents, Edward and Elsie (Shull) Johnston. She moved with her family as a young girl to Fulda, Minnesota where her parents owned and operated the Fulda Hotel. Merle attended St. Gabriel?s Catholic grade school and high school. Merle was united in marriage to August Sieve on September 19, 1938 at St. Gabriel?s Catholic Church in Fulda. They lived on the family farm in the Wilmont area until July of 1989, when they moved into Wilmont. Merle became a resident of the Arnold Memorial Health Care Center of Adrian in December of 2005. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont, the OLGC CCW and the Catholic Daughters of America. Merle enjoyed traveling, reading, flowers and visiting with friends and relatives. Merle is survived by her four children, Sister Janet Sieve, OSF, Rochester; Don (Yvonne) Sieve, Worthington; Tom (Cindy) Sieve, rural Reading; and Doug Sieve and special friend, Lynnette Soderholm, Slayton; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, August and two sisters, Lenore Haberman and Rosella Wand. Blessed Be Her Memory.
