MICHAEL EDWARD JOHN, age 58, of Adrian, died Monday, September 16, 2013, at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born April 26, 1955, in Worthington, to Edward "Bud" and Patricia (Munns) John. Mike was raised in Adrian and attended St. Adrian Schools and Adrian Public Schools. He joined the United States Navy and served his country from 1974 to 1978.
Mike married Jeanette Rodrigez and they made their home in Norfolk, VA. Mike's job later took him to Valrico, FL. He decided to spend more time with his family and moved back to Adrian in August of 2002 and was hired at Swift in Worthington.
He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing billiards and his dog, Johny.
Mike is survived by his father, Bud (Elaine) John, Adrian; step son, Robin Miller, Orlando, FL; siblings, Craig John, Adrian; Brad John, Worthington; Lisa (Mike) Thiner, Fostoria, IA; and Mark John, Adrian; step brothers, Russell (Vivian) Reckamp, Adrian; Rick (Lisa) Reckamp, Storm Lake, IA; and Ron (Cindy) Reckamp, Schaller, IA; and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette John, in 2008; mother, Patricia John, in 1983; brother, Jeffrey John, in 1984; and his mother-in-law, Carmen Rodrigez.
A visitation will be from 5-8 pm Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Adrian, with a prayer service at 7:30 pm. A private burial will take place at a later date.
