Mildred (Vosberg)
(Lucht) Oldham
May 28, 1920 – February 7, 2017
Mildred Edna Vosberg Lucht Oldham died at the age of 96 at Three Links Care Center in Northfield, MN. She was born May 28, 1920 to Herman and Dorothea Vosberg on a farm near Dovary, MN. She was baptized at Dovary Lutheran Church and confirmed at Pfinsten Lutheran Church near Fulda, MN. She grew up on various farms north of Worthington. Mildred was united in marriage to John Lucht December 29, 1940 and together they farmed for several years and were active members of Pfinsten Lutheran Church. Later they moved to Worthington, MN joining American Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and joined VFW Ladies Auxiliary becoming actively involved. Mildred worked at Campbell Soup Company for 32 ½ years. Her love for the outdoors was carried out in gardening. After retiring they spent the first two years in Loveland, Colorado. Next they became winter Texans living in Alamo Palms, TX. Mildred enjoyed outdoor sports especially shuffleboard and horseshoes. Many hours were spent playing card games! John passed away in 1991. In 1993 she married Robert Oldham and they enjoyed many travels including Germany, Hawaii, and Mexico. Robert died in 2005 and shortly after that she decided to return to Worthington living at The Okabena Towers, The Meadows, and South Shore. In order for family to visit her more frequently, she resided at Three Links Care Center in Northfield, MN her last year of life.
Mildred is survived by her 3 children Naomi (Delbert) Milbrath of Loveland CO and their children Tyann (Kenton) Janzen and Trent Milbrath, Lloyd (Donna) Lucht of Prior Lake, MN and their children Matthew and Bradley Lucht, and Gary (Faith) Lucht of Inver Grove Heights, MN and their children Tara (Troy) Zincke, Benjamin Lucht, and Andrew (Sheena) Lucht. Her siblings are James (Jean) Vosberg, June Bottema (Richard) Winter, Violet (Glenn) Whitlow, and sister-in-law Katherine Vosberg. She is also survived by 10 Great Grandchildren.
Mildred is preceded in death by her parents Dorothea (Deutschmann) and Herman Vosberg, husbands John Lucht and Robert Oldham, siblings Raymond Vosberg, Lucille (Elmer) Preuss, Viola (Albert) Rehborg (Herman) Kilker, Gladys (Clifford) Anderson, sister-in-law Karen Vosberg, brother-in-law John Bottema and Grandson Troy Milbrath.
A time of fellowship will be from 9:30 to 11 am Saturday, April 22, 2017, at the American Lutheran Church in Worthington. A celebration of life will be 11 am Saturday April 22, at the American Lutheran Church. Burial of cremains will be in the Worthington Garden of Memories Cemetery.
