MINNIE ROSELLA HAKEN, age 92, of Worthington, died Friday, January 18, 2013, at the Sibley Nursing Home in Sibley, IA. She was born on May 1, 1920, in rural Rushmore, to George and Grace (Feltman) Heidebrink. She attended country school near Rushmore.
Minnie married George Haken on June 1, 1940, on her family's farm south of Rushmore. The couple farmed in various locations in the Rushmore area. George died in 1982. Minnie moved to Worthington in 1987. She moved into the Meadows in January of 2008.
She was a former member of the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church south of Rushmore and the Ladies Aid. She was a current member of the American Reformed Church in Worthington; and the Rushmore Senior Citizens. She enjoyed bullhead fishing, playing cards, puzzles & traveling.
Minnie is survived by her five children, Sharon (Daryl) Buss, Gainesville, FL; Linda (David) Boyenga, Bloomington; Lila (Daryl) Brinkhous, rural Rushmore; Timothy (Sherrie) Haken, rural Rushmore; and Colleen (Kurt) Dubbe, Jackson, WY; five grandchildren, Jennifer Buss, Lon (Tammi) Brinkhous, Jory Haken, Connor Haken & Mika Dubbe; four great grandchildren, Lonnie, Ilon, Sean & Benjamin; and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; daughter, Darnell Haken, in 1967; and a brother, Harm (Ann) Heidebrink.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Funeral will be 2pm Tuesday at the American Reformed Church, in Worthington, officiated by Rev. Adam Eisinga. Burial will be at 10:30 am Tuesday at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock, IA.
