NICHOLAS J. KELLEN, age 85, of Worthington, died Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Sanford Hospital in Luverne.  He was born May 29, 1926, in LeMars, Iowa to parents, Nicholas, Sr. and Clara (Wenner) Kellen.  Nick graduated from Ghelan High School, attended Westmar College in LeMars, IA; and served in the United States Air Force during World War II.
Nick worked most of his adult life for Cargill, Inc. and in his later years managed the Prairie View Golf Course in Worthington.
He was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Worthington. He enjoyed singing in the choir.  He also loved big band music, dancing, golfing, reading and tending to his garden.
Nick is survived by his wife, Betty, Worthington, MN;  children; Judith Igoe, Denver, CO:  Thomas (Rosemary) Bellaire, Clarendon Hills, IL;  Mary (Mike) Mathiasen, St. Charles, IA;  Julie (Les) Hinds, Groton, SD:  John (Sandy) Kellen, Dakota Dunes, SD;  Patricia (Tom) Price, Sioux Falls, SD;  Nicholas III (Dorene) Kellen, Sioux Falls, SD;  Joseph (Coleen) Kellen, New Prague, MN;  Nancy McClintick, Richfield, MN;  Paula (Jeff) Smith, Hayden, ID;  Chuck (Kristi) Bowyer, Strasburg, CO:  Carla (Tom) Sweeney, Hopkins, MN;  twenty-three grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Arlene and Mona; three sisters, three brothers, one son and one daughter-in-law.
