NICHOLAS JOHN SEHR, age 81, of Luverne, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at the Minnesota Veterans Home, in Luverne. He was born May 30, 1926, in Lyon County, IA, to Edward and Annie (Baatz) Sehr. Nick attended country school and later graduated from high school. He served his country in the United States Army. Nick married Kathleen Rolph on May 2, 1950, at St. Catherine Catholic Church, in Luverne. After their marriage, the couple farmed southeast of Luverne. In 1964, the family moved to an acreage south of Luverne. Nick worked at IBP, in Luverne, before retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, in Luverne; the Knights of Columbus; and the Luverne VFW. He enjoyed reading and volunteering at the Luverne Senior Citizen Center. Nick is survived by his wife, Kathleen Sehr, Luverne; four children and their spouses, Sue & Bob Ohnsorg, Chaska; Steve & Becky Sehr, Luverne; Kathy Sehr, Stillwater; and Mark & Reva Sehr, Luverne; eight grandchildren, Micky, Jeff, Paul, Pete, Jennie, Katie, Averill & Matthew; four great grandchildren, Riley, Parker, Casey & Carter; and a sister, Joanne (Terry) Turk, Los Angeles, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leonard; infant brother, Joseph; and three sisters, Cecelia Swenson, Mary Obele & Helen Reickman.
