NOEL BURDELL HENRICHS, age 86, of Luverne, formerly of rural Magnolia, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne. He was born January 7, 1926, in Ellsworth, to Iko and Sophie (Busse) Henrichs. He attended school in Adrian. Noel worked on the family farm until he was drafted in WWII. He served his country in the United States Navy as a Sea Bee from 1944 until he was honorably discharged in 1947.
Noel was united in marriage to Ila Stoffel on June 16, 1947, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore. After their marriage, the couple lived in Adrian where Noel worked for Becker Lumber Yard; and also the Adrian Creamery as a butter maker. The family moved to a farm southeast of Magnolia in 1951, where Noel farmed and did carpentry work. They later moved to an acreage north of Magnolia where he lived until he become a resident of the Minnesota Veterans Home in 2011.
He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne; the Adrian American Legion and the Luverne VFW. He enjoyed going to horse shows, doing carpentry work, square dancing, playing cards, working at the Kenneth bar for several years; and spending time with his family.
Noel is survived by his wife, Ila Henrichs, Magnolia; three children, Deb (Ron) Luettel, Adrian; Bruce (Lana) Henrichs, Ellsworth; and Lori (Mark) Holtz, Adrian, eleven grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Burmeister, Pipestone; and a sister-in-law, Tressa Henrichs, Buckley, WA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William & Henry Henrichs; four sisters, Gert Wessels, Ivanilt, Margaret & Anna Henrichs.
Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Funeral will be 10:30 AM Friday at St. Catherine Catholic Church, in Luverne, officiated by Fr. Thomas Jennings. Burial will be at the St. Adrian Cemetery in Adrian.
