NORMA JEAN EDWARDS, age 71, died Monday, September 3, 2012 at the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne MN. Norma was the youngest of two daughters of Art and Anna (Claussen) Harris. Born April 16, 1941, in her grandparents' home in rural Sioux County Iowa, Norma was raised on a farm south of Inwood, IA. She attended country school until it closed and then joined her classmates in the Inwood Public School.
A two year marriage to Alfred Anson saw the arrival of two children before it was ended by an automobile accident involving her husband and a friend on their way to work. Norma later married Kenneth Teel, and to that eighteen-year union two children were born. Her family resided in Brandon from 1965-1987. On August 29, 1987, Norma married David Edwards and moved to Adrian, MN.
During her years in Brandon, Norma was a home day-care provider, a Girl Scout leader, Bible school teacher and she worked in the school kitchen and at the local drug store. Norma enjoyed card club, league bowling, her garden and sewing for her kids. Her move to Adrian found her involved with altar care, serving as funeral coordinator, and actively involved with the ladies group at Zion Lutheran Church. The church quilting project, her Bible study groups and the monthly meetings with her friends from the past provided her with much happiness and cherished fellowship. Norma enjoyed her volunteer work with the "Happy Helpers" group at the nursing home, delivering for the local meals on wheels program and serving as a hospice volunteer.
Those left to cherish Norma's memory are her husband, Dave, and the greatest joy of her life - her children and grandchildren.
