NORMAN EDWARD ENGELSON, age 71, of Rushmore, died Sunday, April 13, 2014, at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington. He was born July 28, 1942, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Ray and Lois Engelson.
Norman was united in marriage to Mary Jane Sweeney on June 30, 1962, at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore. The couple lived near Rushmore. As a young boy, Norman enjoyed being around trucks which he made a career of. He owned & operated Norm Engelson Trucking for many years. Norman enjoyed auto racing and truck shows. He loved to restore things in his shop especially bicycles.
Norman is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Engelson, Rushmore; three children, Brenda Dubisar, Plymouth; Terry Engelson, Inver Grove Heights; and Julie Engelson, Coon Rapids; six grandchildren, Matthew (fiancée, Kayla) Engelson, Christina Dubisar, Joseph Dubisar, Andrew Dubisar, Kayla Engelson & Cody Engelson; two brothers, Richard Engelson, Worthington; and Roger Engelson, LA Grande, OR; three sisters, Sharon Engelson, Worthington; Beverly (Cyril) Their, Worthington; and Barbara (Donny) Their, Worthington; and many nieces, nephews & other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Gary Engelson.
Visitation will be from 4-7pm Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and one hour prior to the service. Funeral will be 10 am Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, officiated by Fr. Andrew Beerman. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Worthington.
