ORLEN HENRY NATH, age 86, of Luverne, died Sunday, July 3, 2011, at the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne. He was born September 22, 1924, in Springwater Township, rural Luverne, to Marcus and Emma (Schneekloth) Nath. He attended country school in Springwater Township and Magnolia Public School. Orlen married Corinne Ruddy on February 24, 1949. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Rock County. The couple later divorced. Orlen married Mary Jo Brandenburg on March 7, 1981, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne. After their marriage, the couple lived in Luverne. Orlen farmed until 1984. He later worked on the farm for Arnie Toftland. In 1985, he began working at Glens Grocery, in Luverne, where he continued to work until the present time. He was a lifetime member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne; the Knights of Columbus; the Luverne Eagles Club; and past president of the Luverne Chapter of the American Association of Bowlers. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family & friends. Orlen is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Nath, Luverne; six children, Michael (Janet) Nath, Luverne; Steve (Wendy) Nath, Luverne; Gregg Nath, Sioux Falls, SD; Pamela (Michael) Welch, Yankton, SD; Joni (Kraig) Keck, Sioux Falls, SD; and Thomas (Lisa) Nath, Luverne; two step children, Kevin (Karen) Brandenburg, Burnsville; and Susan (Randy) Schneekloth, Luverne; twenty grandchildren, Matthew (Lisa) Nath, Christopher (Amber) Nath, Patrick (Elizabeth) Nath, Teresa (Shawn) Kinsinger, Timothy (Carissa) Nath, Sarah (friend, Zac Brands) Nath, Benjamin (fianc?e, LaRae Kor) Nath, Lucas Nath, Angela Nath, Scott (Lani) Nath, Jeremy Nath, Joel Nath, Joshua (Michelle) Nath, Jody (Brian) Moss, Bridget (Travis) Hively, James (Brittany) Welch, Kameron Keck, Amanda Keck, Ethan Nath & Emma Nath; twenty four great grandchildren; brother, William (June) Nath, Luverne; sister-in-law, Betty Nath, Luverne; and a brother-in-law, Horton Staeffler, Gladbrock, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joel Nath, in 2011; and two brothers, Carl & Harvey Nath; and two sisters, Norma Meyer & Milda Staeffler. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Wednesday, with parish prayers at 7:30 pm at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Thursday at St. Catherine Catholic Church, in Luverne, officiated by Fr. Thomas Jennings. Burial will be at St. Catherine Cemetery in Luverne.
