ORVILLE SETHER WEE, age 98, of Worthington, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington. He was born July 8, 1910 to parents Peder and Martha (Sether) Wee in Pontiac, Illinois. He grew up in Dawson, MN and graduated from Dawson Public School. He later attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN and graduated in 1933. On June 27, 1942 Orville was united in marriage to Gertrude Heinck in Dawson, MN. In 1942, Orville also enlisted in the U.S. Army. After he was honorably discharged the couple made their home in Lakefield, MN where Orville was an International Harvester Dealer. In 1963 they moved to Worthington and Orville continued as the International Harvester Dealer in Worthington, retiring in 1976. After retiring Orville served as a Nobles County Commissioner for 12 years and presided as chairman for several years. Orville was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lakefield, a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Worthington and most currently a member of American Lutheran Church in Worthington. He was a charter member of the Kiwanis Club in Lakefield; a member of the Lakefield City Council; President of the Minnesota-South Dakota Equipment Dealers Association; a member of the Nobles County ARC; a member of the Worthington Chamber of Commerce and served as its president; a member of the Minnesota AARP Lobbying Group and also served on various church and community boards. Orville was a people person. He loved traveling with his wife Trudy. His family, faith and community were very important to him. He was well informed and enjoyed discussing current events. Orville is survived by his daughters, Judy (Dick) Rickbeil, Worthington, MN; Deborah Wee, St. Louis Park, MN; Krista (Don) Nelson, Verona, WI; and Naomi Wee, Fairmont, MN; grandchildren, Martha (Judd) Sather, Grant, MN; Mark (Stephanie) Rickbeil, Billings, MT; Emily (Eric) Turney, Big Bear, CA; Paul Rickbeil, Kiowa, CO; Tom (Melissa) Rickbeil, Roberts, MT; Dan (Angie) Rickbeil, Mankato, MN; Anne (Chad) Pavlick, Red Lodge, MT; Peter (fianc?e Kathryn) Nelson, Madison, WI; Jonathan (Megan) Nelson, Beloit, WI; and great-grandchildren, Peder, Bengt, and Annika Rickbeil; Bjorn, Kai, and Gunnar Sather; Gretchen and Garret Turney; Eliana Rickbeil and Anna Rickbeil. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Trudy in 1999; brothers, Conrad, Robert, Palmer and sister, Helen Hales.
