Obituary

Oscar O. Rubio age 63, of Worthington, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Crossroads Care Center in Worthington, MN. He was born April 26, 1953 in El Paso, Texas to Regino and Guadalupe (Ochoa) Rubio.  He graduated from Ysleta High School in El Paso Texas.. He was married to his first wife to this union two children were born Jacob and Oscar Jr.
Oscar married Marie Rizo-Valzquez on August 20, 2001; they lived in Trenton Missouri until 2007 when they moved the family to Worthington.
Oscar worked in the meat packing industry as a worker and a supervisor. In 2013 he retired from JBS due to his health. He loved to collect antiques, fishing with his step grandchildren, traveling to Texas and North Carolina to visit family. He was a loving step-father and step-grandfather, who made sure that he taught the "boys to be boys". As the cancer grew, so did Oscar's faith and his love of reading the Bible.
Oscar is survived by his wife Maria Rubio of Worthington, son Jacob Rubio of El Paso, TX. Step-Children Jerry Sanchez, Claudia Sanchez and Alexandra Kopp, 10 step-grandchildren and brother Pedro Rubio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Oscar Jr. and three brothers.
Visitation will be Tuesday June 14,2016 10-11 am. at the Dingmann Funeral Home Worthington
Memorial Service will follow visitation at 11 am.
