MARVIN "PAT" SCHETTLER, age 71, died peacefully at home with his family by his side in Wilmont, MN on March 21, 2017. He was born to August and Regina (Becker) Schettler on March 17, 1946 in Bloom Township. He attended Wilmont Catholic School. After school he helped his Dad farm on the family farm East of Wilmont.

Pat was united in marriage to Sharon Ann Showalter on November 19, 1966, in Wilmont MN, at OLGC Catholic Church. After marriage, they lived in Wilmont until January 1967 where they then farmed west of Wilmont until 1985. Then in 1988, they moved to their current home in Wilmont. Pat continued to work construction and retired from Behr Enterprises in 2001.

He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church and a member of the Wilmont Senior Citizens. Pat enjoyed farming up until he moved to town. Many hours camping, fishing, and gardening with his wife. His most precious pride and joy was watching his kids and grandchildren growing up. Pat was known to strike up and carry a conversation with anyone; he had the gift of gab. You would have always seen him with a toothpick in his mouth and a hat on his head.

Pat is survived by his wife, Sharon of 50 years, Wilmont, MN; son-in-law, Mike Lange, Adrian, MN; sons, Tim (Colleen) Schettler, Browerville, MN; Mark (Maradee) Schettler, Lismore, MN; Patrick (Sharon) Schettler, Eden Valley, MN; Michael (Toni) Schettler, Adrian MN; daughter, Diana (Jeremy) Nelson, Reading MN; nineteen grandchildren, Trysten (Tyler) Olson, Tasha (Kyler) Spykerboer, Tom Slater, Samantha (Willie) Kruse, Brad Schettler, Matthew Schettler (Emily), Megan (Andrew) Johnson, Zachery (Brittany) Schettler, Kimberly Ose, DJ Ose, Darrin Ose, Seth Schettler, Colin Schettler, Anthony Schettler, Evan Schettler, Lexie Schettler, Lauren Nelson, Lane Nelson, and Leah Nelson; six great grandchildren, Brayden, Breilee, Mahkenna, Addyson, Elliot, and Tenley; brothers, Donnie (Paula) Schettler, Currie, MN; Alan (Jeri) Schettler, Rushmore, MN; John (Diane) Schettler, Wilmont, MN; Jim (Sandy) Schettler, Wilmont, MN; and a sister, Carol (Steve) Erickson, St. James, MN.r

He was preceded in death by daughter, Tammy Lange (1997), parents, August and Regina Schettler; and father and mother-in-law, Eldon and Thelma Showalter.

Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Friday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, in Wilmont, with parish prayers at 4 pm. Visitation also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Saturday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, in Wilmont, officiated by Monsignor Rick Colletti. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Wilmont.
