PATRICIA KAY ANING, age 62, of Detroit Lakes, formerly of Luverne, died Friday, March 18, 2022. She was born January 9, 1960, in Luverne, to Sievert and Gertrude (Vogt) Aning. She graduated from Luverne High School in 1978. She graduated from Norwest Technical College in 1998 with a Business Management Degree. Patricia lived in Luverne after she graduated, where she worked at Tri State Insurance for many years. She moved to Detroit Lakes, MN, in the early 1990's where she continued to work for Tri State Insurance from her home. She helped run a family owned business until she retired. After she retired, she worked with horse rescue and bought and sold antiques. She enjoyed horses, her pet geese, Doberman Pincher dogs, and most animals and birds in general. She also enjoyed her flowers, sports cars and jogging. She would always greet you with a smile and a hug and never short of words. Patricia loved spending time with her grandchildren and would spoil them every chance she could. Patricia is survived by her two daughters, Cassy (Adam) Bailey, Luverne; and Callandra Aning-Sackmann, Detroit Lakes; four grandchildren, Autumn, Jack, Parker and Brody; four siblings, Jake (Marilyn) Aning, Luverne; Anna (Walter) Ahrendt, Luverne; Sievert Jr. (Audrey) Aning, Luverne; and Kathy Aning, Sioux Falls, SD; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 pm at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Funeral will be 1:30 pm Friday at The First Presbyterian Church, in Luverne, officiated by Pastor Theodora Hall. Burial will be in the Luverne Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
