PAULA DICKMAN, age 50, of Hardwick, formerly of Cashton, WI, died suddenly Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Sanford Luverne Hospital. She was born July 26, 1960, in Sparta, WI, to Paul and Bernice (Barbour) Dickman of Cashton, WI. Paula was baptized & confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cashton, WI. She graduated from Cashton High School in 1978. After she graduated, Paula worked in the food service industry many years providing thousands of delicious meals at many different locations working two and sometimes three jobs. She started out working for Mabel Olson then went to Dickmans Cozy Diner, and Mel?s Running Inn & Cowboy Village in the Cashton & Sparta area. She moved to Luverne in 1986, where she worked at the Viking Inn from 1986 to 1989. Paula then started working at Smokey?s Pizza Parlor from 1989 to 1999. She then began working at the Korner Shop in 1988 and became manager not long after. Paula also spent many hours cooking at the Green Lantern, in Hardwick, where she started in 1999. She will be remembered by her bright smile & her happy go lucky attitude. She enjoyed every day by being ?Peachy? or saying, ?just another day in paradise?. Paula is survived by her parents, Paul & Bernice Dickman, Cashton, WI; siblings, Dennis (Lori) Dickman, Cashton, WI; Bill Dickman, Tomah, WI; and Linda Dickman, Hardwick; nieces & nephews, Derek, Sara, Calli, Baily & Jacky Dickman; and her cats, Smokey & Mischief. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry & Ann Dickman; and William & Bessie Barbour. One of Paula?s favorite sayings that she will be remembered by is ?Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away?. Visitation will be 4-8 pm Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne. A memorial service and burial will take place at a later date at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Cashton, WI.
