Obituary

Pearl M. Aaker, age 102, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025 at Ecumen the Meadows. Pearl was born April 3, 1923 in Beaver Creek Township, Rock County, Minnesota, the daughter of Oscar and Frances Themig Aaker.  She grew up on the family farm near Beaver Creek. She attended District 22 country school, later graduating in 1941 from Beaver Creek High School.  Following graduation she was employed in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and later as a telephone operator in Luverne, Minnesota.  In the late 1950's she moved with her parents to Worthington, and shortly thereafter began her employment at the office of the Nobles County Clerk of Court.  She continued to work in the Clerk's office until her retirement in 1985. Pearl lived in the family home on Elmwood Avenue in Worthington until age 99 when she moved to The Meadows. Pearl was a member of First Lutheran Church in Worthington where she served on the Altar Guild Committee, sang in the choir for many years, and helped assemble the monthly newsletter. Pearl loved flowers and could be found in her gardens throughout the summer months. Her green thumb brought beauty to her neighborhood.  Playing the organ and piano were favorite activities.  She also enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends.  Pearl always had a smile and kind words for anyone she came in contact with. She was predeceased by her parents and special cousin, Mary Katherine McVenes.  She is survived by second cousins, church friends and neighbors.

A memorial service will be 2 pm Friday, Nov. 21 at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, officiated by Pastor Jeanette McCormick. A private burial will precede the service.
