QUENTIN HOFFMAN, age 88, of Wilmont, died Monday, October 15, 2012, at his home. He was born August 11, 1924, in Wilmont, to John and Mary (Hebbleman) Hoffman. He attended St. Kilian Catholic School. Quentin served his country in the United States Army during WWII.
Quentin married Rosemary Fath on September 9, 1948, at St. Kilian Catholic Church. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Bloom Township before moving to the farm northwest of St. Kilian in 1964. In 1987, they retired. The couple moved to Wilmont in 1999. Quentin was invited to travel on the second Honor Flight to Washington D.C. in October of 2010.
He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont; the Knights of Columbus; the Catholic Order of Foresters; and the Wilmont VFW. He enjoyed antiques, fishing, polka music, dancing and going to casinos & sales.
Quentin is survived by his wife, Rosemary Hoffman, Wilmont; eight children, Chuck (Arlys) Hoffman, St. Kilian; Natalie (Ron) Popowski, Ivanhoe; Jackie (Gary) Rodrigue, Lismore; Paula (Randy) Vyers, Wilmont; Ed (Mary) Hoffman, Sioux City, IA; Don (Hope) Hoffman, Goodyear, AZ; Joe (Lisa) Hoffman, Brighton, CA; and Jane (Lonnie) Pomranke, Worthington; fourteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren; brother, Stanley (Sylvia) Hoffman, St. Kilian; sister, Charlotte (Wes) Andrews, Hemmet, CA; and two sisters-in-law, Bea Hoffman, Worthington; and Min Fath, Windom.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Arnie, Cyril, Butch & Fuzz Hoffman; and three sisters, Harriet Penning, Salome Dickmann & Marie Thomas.
Visitation will be from 4-7pm Wednesday, with parish prayers at 4pm, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont. Memorial service will be 10:30 am Thursday at OLGC Catholic Church, in Wilmont, officiated by Fr. Andrew Beerman. Burial of cremains will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Wilmont.
