RAMON RAMIREZ MENDOZA, age 72, of Worthington, died Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born August 16, 1952, in Santo Tomas, Huatzindeo GTO, Mexico, to Jose Carmen Arroyo and Audelia Mendoza Vera. At the age of 16, Ramon immigrated to the United States. He moved to Worthington in 2000. Ramon married Maria Berta Espitia De Ramirez on December 1, 1982, in Mexico. After the couple moved to Worthington, Ramon began working at JBS before retiring in 2019 He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, in Worthington. He enjoyed spending time outside, working on his lawn and gardening. Ramon is survived by his mother, Audelia, Chicago, IL; wife, Maria, Worthington; two daughters, Guadalupe (Mario Gonzalez) Ramirez, Worthington; and Anna (Zachary) Steiner, Jackson; three grandchildren, Scarlett Montserrat Steiner, Axel Isaac Ramirez and Kyra Guadalupe Gonzalez; and nine siblings, Maria Luz Ramirez Mendoza, Alfredo Ramirez, Maria Carmen Ramirez, Margarita Ramirez, Vicente Ramirez, Eduardo Ramirez, Rosa Maria Ramirez, Francisco Ramirez, Ma Dolores Ramirez and Anjelica Ramirez. He was preceded in death by his father, and one sister.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 pm Friday, August 2, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Worthington. Funeral Mass will be 2 pm Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Worthington, officiated by Fr. Tim Biren. Burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery.
