REBECCA EILEEN RUTZEN, age 57, of Worthington, died Sunday, April 19, 2009 at the Sanford Regional Hospital in Worthington. She was born on January 5, 1952 in Worthington, to parents, Sidney and Ruth (Barrett) Lundgren. She graduated from Worthington High School in 1970. After High School she attended Canby Vocational School and worked for Campbell Soup Company in Worthington. Rebecca was united in marriage to Randy Rutzen on May 11, 1973. During their marriage, Randy was in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in San Diego, CA, also at Great Lakes, IL and returned to San Diego. After Randy retired from the service the couple and family moved to Worthington in 1993. Rebecca was employed with First State Bank Southwest and later worked at the Worthington Regional Hospital as a receptionist. She enjoyed crocheting, collecting Terry Redlin Art, watching reality television and spending time with her family. Rebecca was a proud supporter of breast cancer awareness. In 2006 she was chosen as Nobles County Honorary Chairperson for Relay for Life. Rebecca is survived by her husband, Randy Rutzen, Worthington; three children, Chad (fianc?e Angela Anderson), Wausau, WI; Tina (Mike) Anderson, Worthington; and Chet Everett (girlfriend Jessica Fonder) Rutzen, Sibley, IA; four grandchildren, Courtney Anderson, Dylan Rutzen, Harley Anderson and Dominik Rutzen. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Catherine Rutzen.
