RICHARD J. AYRES, age 60, of Worthington, died Friday, January 25, 2013, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born November 18, 1952, in Lamberton, to Joe and Lena (Pfarr) Ayres. Richard graduated from Lamberton High School in 1970. He then graduated from Willmar Community College and attended the University of Wisconsin Stout in Menomonie, WI. Richard moved to Worthington in 1988 where he built a house and raised a family.
He enjoyed fixing things. Richard took pride in being able to do repairs. He also enjoyed woodworking and fixing antique cars.
Richard is survived by his three children, Candi Ayres, Eau Clare, WI; Brandie Anderson, Chippewa Falls, WI; and Seve Ayres, Bigelow; four grandchildren, Shawna Gove, Colton Ayres, Levi Wienberg & Alexander Anderson; and four sisters, Marlys (Bill) Blanchette, Storden; Louise (Charlie) Taylor, Storden; Bell (friend, Gerald) Olson, Storden; and Jean (Paul) Leopold, Heron Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A time of fellowship will be from 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington.
