RICHARD BRIGGS, age 49, of Worthington, died, with his family by his side, Saturday, February 6, 2010, at the Immanuel St. Josephs Hospital, in Mankato. He was born February 22, 1960, in Luverne to Alfred and Wanda (Bode) Briggs. He attended the Luverne High School. Richard married Shannon Hurlburt on July 22, 1989, at the American Lutheran Church in Worthington. After their marriage, the couple made their home in Worthington. Richard worked for many businesses in the area and most recently worked for Drumm Inc. in Worthington. He enjoyed playing golf and watching racing especially Nascar. He worked with the Special Olympics in Worthington for many years. Richard is survived by his wife Shannon Briggs, Worthington; daughter, Amber Briggs and her fianc?e Cody Ross, Worthington; son Tyler Briggs, Worthington; granddaughter, Morgan Ross; mother, Wanda Briggs, Luverne; two brothers, Ronald Briggs, Steven Briggs, both of Luverne; three sisters, Barb Briggs, Luverne; Karen (Doug) Dammann, Cottage Grove, MN; Peggy (Jon) Kopp, Kenneth. He is preceded in death by his father, Alfred Briggs, sister, Karol, niece, Penny Bradley and nephew, Cory Dammann.
