RICHARD R. ENGELSON, age 76, of Worthington, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Society in Windom. He was born December 16, 1939, in Madison, SD, to Ray and Lois (Hidenshield) Engelson. He attended school in  Mora, MN; Mason City, IA and finished his schooling in Worthington. After he finished his schooling, Dick worked for his father in road construction.
Dick married Audrey Wasko on June 17, 1961, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington. The couple made their home in Worthington. Dick was an over the road trucker for many years. For the last thirty three years he drove for Midwest Coast Transport in Sioux Falls, SD.
He was a member of the Worthington Eagles Club. Dick enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, driving around the countryside and talking to fellow truckers. He loved getting pictures of his grandchildren from Florida & Iowa.
Dick is survived by his son, Robert "Butch" Engelson, Worthington; two grandchildren, Paige & Keeley Engelson; and three sisters, Sharon Engelson, Worthington; Bev (Jr.) Thier, Worthington; and Barb (Don) Thier, Worthington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Audrey, in 2006; a son, David; a grandson, Tyler; and three brothers, Roger, Norman & Gary Engelson.
Time of fellowship will be Thursday from 5-7 pm at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date at the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
