RICHARD HECTOR, age 88, of Ellsworth, died Friday, August 24, 2007, at the Avera-McKennan Hospital, in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born September 26, 1918, in Adrian, to Oney and Bertha (Klooster) Hector. He attended country school in rural Adrian. Richard married Grace Idella Hector on December 4, 1945, in Ellsworth. After their marriage, the couple farmed in rural Ellsworth, before moving to the farm in rural Luverne in 1950. In 1961, they moved back to rural Ellsworth and farmed. He was a member of the Zion Presbyterian Church, in Ellsworth. Richard enjoyed farming and in his younger years, dairy farming. He also enjoyed raising animals, collecting muscle cars and later, toy cars, John Deere tractors, watching wrestling & going to town to visit with family & friends. Richard is survived by his three children and their spouses, Linda & David Reese, Adrian; Donald & Victoria Hector, Adrian; and Dorothy Knutson, Adrian; three grandchildren, Kristi (Thor) Johnson, Michael (Shawna) Reese, & Steven Knutson; four great-grandchildren, Kasie, Cody, Carson & Gracelyn; two sisters, Grace Mammen, Ellsworth; and Marion Hector, Ellsworth; and a sister-in-law, Anna May Hector, Ellsworth. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Grace Idella Hector, on October 19, 1996; and a brother, Ben Hector. Blessed Be His Memory.
