RICK GRIMMIUS, age 62, of Worthington, died, Monday, March 31, 2014, at the Sanford Worthington Medical Center. He was born September 20, 1951, in Worthington, to John and Katherine (Meyeraan) Grimmius. He graduated from Worthington High School in 1971.
Rick married Debra Jean Bottem on September 1, 1973, at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington. The couple made their home in Worthington their entire married life. Rick worked at Harvester, Highland Manufacturing and Pawn It.
He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington. Rick loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, traveling, birds, gardening, watching his grandkids play sports, decorating outside for the Christmas holidays, softball, watching auto racing and his favorite was Jimmy Johnson. His favorite trip was to Alaska.
Rick is survived by his wife, Debra Jean Grimmius, Worthington; daughter, Angie Nicole (Steven) Rogotzke, Jackson; son, Justin Wade (Monica) Grimmius, Worthington; six grandchildren, Jordan Nicole, Travis Henry, Tyler Gregory, Jordan Daniel, Kaitlyn Ann, and Cody Lee Francis; a great granddaughter, Brooklynne Ann; father-in-law, Floyd Bottem; mother-in-law, Doris Bottem; sister, Donna (Jerome) Hancock, Windom; and a brother, Jimmy (Treasa) Grimmius, Sioux Falls, SD.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Gladys (Hazelwood) Grimmius; brother & sister-in-law, Dennis & Mary Grimmius; and a sister, Diane Killmer.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 pm Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Friday at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, in Worthington, officiated by Rev. Bonnie Roys. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Worthington.
