RITA L. KUNKEL, age 83, of Adrian, died Friday, January 29, 2010, at the Adrian Care Center. She was born June 9, 1926, in Adrian, to Theodore F. and Martha (Kellen) Bullerman. Rita married Norbert Kunkel on June 23, 1947, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore. After their marriage, the couple farmed north of Adrian before moving to Adrian in 1977. Rita worked as a bar waitress at the Magnolia Steak House, in Magnolia, for many years. She later worked as Manager of the Home Caf? in Adrian; Head Dietician in the Arnold Memorial Nursing Home in Adrian; and was a Rural Mail Carrier for over twenty one years. She was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church; the Catholic Daughters; the Ladies Aid; and the National Rural Letter Carriers Association. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, canning, traveling to casinos and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Rita is survived by her five children, Tony (Marcia) Kunkel, Adrian; Don (Kim) Kunkel, Adrian; Bob (Connie) Kunkel, Adrian; Mike (Cindy) Kunkel, Luverne; and Judy (Tim) Honermann, Adrian; nine grandchildren, Jessie (James) Jeffery, Eric (Carrie) Kunkel, Tillie (fianc?e, Austin) Cook, Dawn (Jeff) Kopplow, Bob (Tracy) Kunkel, Curtis (Barbara) Kunkel, Amy (Jon) Mollberg, Trista (Dusty) Henning & Tanna (Friend, Sam) Honermann; eight great grandchildren, Brendon, Jordin, Logan, Bradden, Miah, Kyler, Bryson & Brooklyn; brother, Ted (Henrietta) Bullerman III, Adrian; three sisters, Emily (Bob) Entwisle, Huron, SD; Agnes Neuroth, Adrian; and Mary (Delbert) Lutmer, Luverne; and a special friend, Lawrence Neuroth, Ellsworth. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norbert, in 1988; and a sister, Bernice Kruger.
