Robert Earl Davis, age 84, Anoka, formerly of Magnolia died Friday, February 16, 2006 at his home. He was born in Magnolia, MN to Benjamin and Maude Davis on Aug 11, 1922. He lived in Wilder, MN with his grandparents until he was 16. He Graduated from Magnolia High School in 1941 and enlisted in the US Navy were he served aboard the U.S.S. Wake Island from 1942 to 1945. Robert married Dorothy Gibbons of Magnolia in Bremerton, WA on Oct 20, 1943. Upon returning to Magnolia he worked as a block and brick layer until 1960 when he was appointed Postmaster of Magnolia. He served until retirement in 1985. In 1991 Robert and Dorothy moved to Anoka, MN to be closer to their family. He was a volunteer firefighter, city clerk, booster club president, a member of the VFW, and served on the Rock County draft board. Robert is survived by his wife Dorothy Davis, three sons and one daughter, Jack (Loree) Davis, Cold Spring, MN; Jane (Rodger) McKay, Green Valley, AZ; Chuck (Kathy) Davis, Ramsey, MN; and Michael Davis, Andover, MN; 11 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Gerald, Russel, and Orville. Blessed Be His Memory.
