ROBERT ELMER HEIKES, age 64, of Ellsworth, died Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at the Avera-McKennan Hospital, in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born December 3, 1942, in Adrian, to Elmer and Evelyn (Bohnart) Heikes. Bob attended school in Ellsworth and later helped his father at Heikes Motors, in Ellsworth. Bob married Judy Janshen on August 17, 1963, in Ellsworth. After their marriage, the couple lived in Ellsworth. Bob worked at Adrian Tile. In 1970, they moved to Sioux Center, IA where Bob worked at Supreme Packing Plant. In 1989, the couple moved back to Ellsworth. Bob worked at S & R Supply, in Rock Rapids, IA, before retiring in 2002. He enjoyed bowling, baseball, watching the Minnesota Twins, riding in his pickup truck & especially spending time with his grandchildren. Bob is survived by his wife, Judy Heikes, Ellsworth; four children and their spouses, Rhonda & Robert Sims, Sioux City, IA; Michael Heikes, Sioux Center, IA; Deb & Larry Caddell, Woodbine, IA; and Darrick & Wendy Heikes, Hull, IA; twelve grandchildren, Nichole, Christopher, Matthew, Mark, Rachael, Jessica, Shauna, Kayla, Cory, Brandon, Alexandria & Amber; sister, Donna Boltjes, Windom; and a brother-in-law, LeeRoy Berglund, Slayton. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Sandi Berglund.
