Robert Israel

ROBERT ISRAEL, age 89, of Luverne, died Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at his home. He was born February 9, 1937, in New York City, NY, to Alexander and Vidalia (Ramirez) Israel. He graduated from Textile High School; and attended St. Kilian Community College. Bob enjoyed painting, writing and foreign languages. He loved music, he played piano, classical guitar and as a child he and his brother played violin.

Bob married Mary Jane Strano on June 30, 1960. Jane died on June 24, 1983.

He is survived by his children, Bobby Grey-Eagle, Dawn Israel, Lance Israel, Adam Israel and Robin Israel and Lottie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; and his wife, Jane.

A Memorial Mass will be 1 pm Friday, July 31 at St. Catherine Catholic Church, in Luverne, officiated by Fr. Joshua Miller. A time of fellowship will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be in the St. Catherine Cemetery.
