ROBERT "BOB" LEE KEAY, age 77, of Luverne, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne. He was born March 3, 1935, in Moline, IL, to John and Lucile (Curry) Keay. He was baptized & Confirmed in the Methodist Church. He attended Luverne High School.
Bob married Frances Petty in November of 1970, in Luverne. After their marriage, the couple lived in Luverne. Bob worked at Rolf Construction; and Davis Motors in Luverne. He began working for the city of Luverne in October of 1982 before retiring in March of 1994.
He enjoyed his cars; watching NASCAR; and collecting guns.
Bob is survived by his sister, Sally (Chuck) Cooksley, Luverne; two nieces, Dixie (Al) Aanenson, Luverne; and Tammy (Dave) Smeins, Luverne; seven great nieces & nephews, Michael (Meghan) Aanenson, Minneapolis; Becky (Tim) Banck, Luverne; David (Brittany) Smeins, Baxter; Dana (Josh) Klay, Magnolia; Dustin (friend, Dawn) Smeins, Luverne; Darcy (friend, Garrett) Smeins, Luverne; and Diana (friend, Dan) Smeins, Luverne; nine great great nieces & nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Frances, in 1994.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Funeral will be 10 am Saturday at the United Methodist Church, in Luverne, officiated by Rev. Theodora Hall. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne.
