ROGER HAMM, age 71, of rural Edgerton, died Thursday, June 5, 2014, at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage. He was born March 26, 1943, on the family farm in rural Edgerton, to Ralph and Carrie (Bolluyt) Hamm. Roger attended country school near the family farm and also attended Edgerton High School. He later moved to California where he worked installing carpet. After moving back to Minnesota, Roger worked at Gramstad Lumber in Hardwick and later drove milk truck.
Roger married Sharon Van Klei on June 26, 1964, in Kenneth. The couple farmed in rural Edgerton before moving to the farm near Kenneth. They later moved to the farm in rural Edgerton.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Hardwick; and had served as President of the Pipe-Rock Pool League. He enjoyed fishing, billiards and farming.
Roger is survived by his wife, Sharon Hamm, rural Edgerton; daughter, Rhonda Hamm, Worthington; son, Randy Hamm, Edgerton; Randy's special friend, Gina Bleyenberg, & her son, Mika, Edgerton; brother, Orville (Brenda) Hamm, Edgerton; three brothers-in-law, Stan Peters, Sioux Falls, SD; Steve (Laura) Van Klei, Champlin; and Lonnie (Deb) Van Klei, Hugo; and two sisters-in-law, Marlou Bloemendaal, Luverne; and Kathy (David) Hunt, Stewartville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Shelly Renae Hamm; two sisters, Carolyn Hamm; and Marilyn Peters; and a brother, Vernon (Paulette) Hamm.
Visitation will be from 2-6 pm Sunday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Monday at the Zion Lutheran Church, in Hardwick, officiated by Rev. Mark Mumme. Burial will be in the Leota Community Cemetery.
