August 7, 1946 – October 5, 2024
Roger Raymond Paulzine age 78, was born August 7, 1946 at Alexandria, MN to Raymond and Margaret (Schettler) Paulzine. He passed away October 5, 2024 at the VA Hospital Sioux Falls, SD.
Roger attended school at OLGC Catholic School, Wilmont till his graduation in 1964. He Attended College at St Mary's, Winona MN and Winona State College till 1969. He majored in Geology and Physics. He had his first taste on computers at college. One computer at that time was as tall as the room.
Roger was drafted into the Army 9-5-1969 and went to MP training Ft Gordon Georgia. He was stationed at Ft Clayton, Panama Canal Zone. He learned to Scuba dive while there and loved the area so much he extended 3 months. He also took up guitar while there and upon returning home he taught Curt and Deanna how to play. They did so well that the Nuns had them play during Mass at school.
Roger loved to ride bike. He rode bike from the farm to Worthington College every day. He also rode bike from the farm to Alexandria during the time Dad & Mom were building their lake home in 1977.
Roger worked for several Tec companies in the cities. He programed software for Hospitals, installed the programs and helped with troubleshooting.
Roger is survived by his siblings, William & Mary Paulzine, Alexandria; Carolyn Penning, Wilmont; Thomas & Sandra Paulzine, Iona; Timothy & Barbara Paulzine, Iona; Anthony & Sue Paulzine, Iona; Mary and Ken Stommes, St Joseph; Lisa and Dave Vang, Deerwood; Curtis and Cheryl Paulzine, Monticello; Deanna Paulzine & Friend, Greg Koob, St. Cloud; Lee and Dana Paulzine, Holdingford; thirty five nieces and nephews; seventy two great- nieces and nephews; and nine great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Raymond in 1978; , mother, Margaret in 2013; sisters, Janine in 2017; and Jill in 2024; brothers-in-law, Leo Eisenmenger in 1993; and John Penning in 2023.
A time of fellowship will be from 9 to 11 am Saturday, Oct. 12, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont. A Memorial Mass will be 11 am Saturday, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, in Wilmont, officiated by Monsignor Richard Colletti. Burial with full military honors provided by the Wilmont VFW, will take place at the Calvary Cemetery in Wilmont.
Dingmann Funeral Home & Cremation Services, in Wilmont, is in charge of arrangements.
