RONALD L. DOHERTY, age 77, of Heron Lake died, Monday, September 27, 2010 at the Windom Area Hospital. He was born on August 22, 1933 in Heron Lake to parents, George M. and Vera V. (Rhone) Doherty. Ronald graduated from Heron Lake High School. Ronald was united in marriage to Ruth Mary Wagner on June 22, 1957 in Heron Lake. During their marriage the couple made their home in Heron Lake. Ron worked for Sontag?s Lumber Yard in Heron Lake for 46 years. He retired in May of 1999. Ronald was a volunteer fireman for the Heron Lake Fire Department for 46 years. He was also a member of the Red Wing Collectors Society. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting Red Wing stoneware. Ronald is survived by his wife Ruth, Heron Lake, MN; one son, Bradley (Diane) Doherty, Heron Lake, MN; four grandchildren, Christina and Jennifer Doherty, and Jessica and Rebecca Pelzel. He was preceded in death by his parents.
