RONALD HOFFMAN, age 59, of Wilmont, died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at his home. He was born July 6, 1947, in Slayton, to Raymond and Fidelis (Hermeling). Hoffman. Ron graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic High School in Wilmont in 1965. Immediately out of high school, Ron served his country for four years in the United States Air Force. In 1976 he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting at Chico State University in Chico, CA. Following graduation he worked as an auditor for the Interstate Commerce Commission. In 1978 Ron moved back home to Wilmont and in 1979 he took over ownership of Hoffman Farm Services from his father. Ron married Donna Baker in Worthington in 1979. They divorced in 2005. In 1987 Ron became Manager of the Wilmont Adrian Co-op Farm Service Center. Ron was a member of the Wilmont Volunteer Fire Department for 26 years; and a former member of the Wilmont City Council and Lions Club. Ron enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, golfing, grilling, cooking and working on his home and yard. He loved every aspect of his work with the Co-op and the farming community. Ron especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Ron is survived by his daughter, Trina Hoffman, Dundee; son, Travis Hoffman, Wilmont; two grandchildren, Taylor Hoffman & Sierra Hoffman-Strom (Trina); and nine siblings, Jeri (Steve) Schlotfeldt, Marysville, WA; Betty (Steve) Loftus, North Bennington, VT; Deb Sundberg, St. Francis, MN; Brenda (Jerry Bowers) Hoffman, Brookneal, VA; Jean (Larry) Hammond, Seymour, TN; Richard Hoffman, Wilmont; Scott (Carol Zeimet) Hoffman, Casper, WY; Bruce (Lorri) Hoffman, Seymour, TN; and Karin (Marcelo Vargas) Hoffman, Newport, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother, Kevin.
