RONALD DEAN ZINNEL, age 69, of Reading, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Sanford Worthington Medical Center. He was born on October 28, 1943 in Fulda to parents Melvin and Velma (Wehler) Zinnel. He grew up on a farm outside of Brewster and attended Brewster Public School. After his schooling he farmed with his family.
He was united in marriage to Linda Dass on August 8, 1965. During his first marriage he owned and operated D&D Cleaners in Worthington and later moved to California where he worked for a tire service and also Huntington Beach City School District. He then moved back to Brewster where he was the owner/operator of Ron's Café. After the closing of the restaurant he worked for Mr. Donut in Worthington and Sather`s Candy Corporation in Round Lake until retiring.
On September 16, 1995 he was united in marriage to Bonnie Johnson in Worthington. After their marriage Ron and Bonnie lived on the family farm outside of Brewster and later moved to Bonnie's residence in Reading.
Ron enjoyed playing guitar in various bands, painting, camping and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Ron is survived by his wife, Bonnie, Reading; four children, Shannon Welling and special friend Gerry Hulstein, Fulda, MN; Jeff (Sam) Zinnel, Huntsville, AL; Mitchell (Bobbi) Zinnel, Lakefield, MN; Nichole (Rob) Beeck, Dundee, MN; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, five step-children, Leanne (Paul) Langseth, Shakopee, MN; Terry (Teresa) Johnson, Slayton, MN; Connie (Mark) Entsminger, Anoka, MN; Mark (Michelle) Johnson, Sibley, IA; Brenda (Gary) Behrens, Rushmore, MN; ten step-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren, and one brother, Robert L. (Sharon) Zinnel, Luverne, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
