Obituary

ROSA LINA EMILY NILSON, age 98, of Worthington, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at Sunset Hospice Cottage, Worthington. She was born on December 7, 1908, in Ewington Township in Jackson County to parents August and Hannah (Bunning) Habeck. In 1928, she moved with her father and sister to Isle, MN. Rosa married Albert Nilson on October 4, 1934, in Isle. They moved to Worthington in 1940 where Albert worked until his death in 1968. Rosa worked for several years on the boning line at Campbell Soup Company. In 1962, she began doing alterations at Sherrie Sue followed by Habicht?s Department Store and then independently. Rosa enjoyed travels with her family including most states, Canada, the Caribbean, and Iceland. She loved making plants grow in her garden and in her home. She crocheted extensively, for which her family and acquaintances are grateful. Rosa was a very active member of the American Lutheran Church and at the Atrium, where she lived for thirty years. She became a resident of the Sanford Hospice of Worthington in 2006. Rosa is survived by three children, Donald (Kathy) Nilson, Florissant, MO; Deanna (Harry) DeJong, Mooresville, NC; Arlys (Carl) Kremer, Fulton, MO; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews including Dale and Lora Lee Knuth, Worthington. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert, three brothers and three sisters, and two sons-in-law.
