ROSE MARY MEYERS, age 76, of Worthington, died Friday, January 7, 2011, at the Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. She was born September 26, 1934, in Harris, IA, to Cornelius and Mary (Perkins) Petersen. She attended school in Council Bluff, IA. Rose Mary married William Meyers on May 4, 1958, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan, IA. They made their home in Worthington all of their married life. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Worthington; and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #0461 in Round Lake. She enjoyed walking, reading, puzzle books & animals. Rose Mary is survived by her two sons, Roger P. (Barb) Meyers, Crooks, SD; and Dale E. Meyers, Worthington; three grandchildren, Jennifer Meyers, Roger Meyers II and William Meyers; four brothers, Jerry Petersen, Rapid City, SD; Clayton Petersen, Austin; Larry Petersen, Sioux City, IA; and Richard Petersen, Worthington; and a sister, Melva Roos, Sioux Falls, SD. She was preceded in death by her husband, William, on August 30, 2010; and a son, John William Meyers.
