ROSELLA F. SCHAEFFER, age 89, of Worthington, died Thursday, June 25, 2015 at South Shore Care Center in Worthington. She was born August 24, 1925 in Sleepy Eye, MN; to parents Peter and Rose (Hengel) Krzmarzick. Rosella graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in Sleepy Eye.
She was united in marriage to George Haas in 1945 and to this union 4 children were born. They moved to Worthington where she and George were engaged in the bakery business for 25 years, with Joe and Laura Lang. They later moved to Willmar, where George worked at another bakery and Rosella worked at Goldfines Department Store.
After George's death in 1975 she moved to Duluth and was united in marriage to James Schaeffer. In Duluth she worked at KDLH TV in the bookkeeping department and later at Goldfines Investments.
The couple retired and moved to Naples, FL; in 1989. Because of health reasons James and Rosella moved back to Worthington and lived at Homestead Cooperative for 16 years. James preceded her in death in 2004.
Rosella is survived by her sons, Stanley (Julie) Haas, Worthington, MN; and Scott (Gayla) Haas, Worthington, MN; daughter, Sandra (Tim) Kirkpatrick, Rainier, OR; daughter-in-law, Michele Haas, Okoboji, IA; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, son Steve Haas, one grandson, McKane Kirkpatrick, four brothers and one sister.
A time of fellowship will be Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 A.M at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Worthington. The Memorial Mass will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday with Father James Callahan and Deacon Vern Behrends officiating. Burial will be at a later date at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye, MN.
