ROSEMARY C. HOFFMAN, age 97, of Wilmont, died Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Sanford Luverne Medical Center. She was born December 1, 1927, in Wilmont Township, to Jake and Mary (Von Holtum) Fath. She attended St. Kilian School. Rosemary helped out at home, waitressed, and helped in different homes as "a hired girl" to help with general housework until she was married.
Rosemary married Quentin Hoffman on September 9, 1948, at St. Kilian Catholic Church. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Bloom Township before moving to the farm northwest of St. Kilian in 1964. In 1987, they retired. The couple moved to Wilmont in 1999. Rosemary lived with Natalie & Ron, in Ivanhoe, for a little over three years before moving to Parkview Manor, in Ellsworth, in December of 2024.
She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont; and the WCCW. Rosemary enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, trips to Colorado & Arizona, quilting, spending time with family, polka music, playing cards, solitaire, dancing, cooking, baking and volunteering at the thrift store. She always had fresh cinnamon rolls for Saturday coffee, a family favorite was her famous fried chicken.
Rosemary is survived by her children, Chuck & Arlys Hoffman, St. Kilian; Natalie & Ron Popowski, Ivanhoe; Jackie & Gary Rodrigue, Lismore; Paula & Randy Byers, Wilmont; Ed & Mary Hoffman, Sioux City, IA; Donald & Hope Hoffman, Sierra Vista, AZ; Joe & Lisa Hoffman, Goodland, KS and Jane Pomranke & Chuck Dunker, Jackson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two brothers-in-law, Stanley Hoffman, Luverne; and Wes Andrews, Hemet, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Quentin on October 15, 2012; son-in-law, Lonnie Pomranke; and four siblings, Al Fath, Bea Hoffman, Floyd Fath and Joan Winkle.
A time of fellowship will be from 9 to 10:30 am Thursday, Jan. 23 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont. Memorial Mass will be 10:30 am Thursday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, in Wilmont, officiated by Fr. David Krogman. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Wilmont.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Parkinson's Disease Association.
