IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosie Mae
(Snelson) Gronewold
March 1, 1933 – December 19, 2025
ROSIE MAE GRONEWOLD, age 92, of Worthington, died Friday, December 19, 2025, at The Meadows in Worthington. She was born March 1, 1933, in Worthington, to Leslie and Clarinda (Stokes) Snelson. She graduated from Round Lake High School.
Rosie first met the love of her life, Peter Gronewold, when she was just in 10th grade. They met roller-skating at Round Lake. They got engaged when she was a junior and they married right after high school on June 10, 1951, at the Mission Baptist Church in Worthington. Pete entered the United States Army in 1952. After returning from the service, the couple lived in Round Lake for over forty two years. Rosie worked at Shaffers & Skaggs Grocery Stores in Worthington before she began working at Sather's in Round Lake. She was the switchboard operator & worked with the K-Mart Sales team. She became a resident of The Meadows in 2021.
Rosie & Peter were a hard working couple who taught their children the importance of hard work, which they passed down to their children. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, in Round Lake and watched church weekly since it was hard for her to get out. She enjoyed playing Bingo, working on plastic canvas, crocheting, playing card games, listening to Alan Jackson and the Minnesota Twins. Rosie and Peter enjoyed traveling together, especially to California, the East Coast, Branson, MO & England. Rosie cherished all her children and was very proud of each one of them.
Thanks mom for being a great, loving person. Enjoy your time dancing in heaven with dad. Rest in Peace! We Love You!
